In short: Roxguru has no servers, no user accounts, no analytics and no ads. Your settings and race data stay on your watch, your phone and your own Garmin Connect account. We never see them.
This policy covers the Roxguru watch app for Garmin devices (“watch app”), the Roxguru companion app for iOS and Android (“companion app”) and this website (together “Roxguru”). Roxguru is an independent project, referred to as “we” below.
1. Data we collect
None. We do not collect, receive, store or sell any personal data. Roxguru does not include any analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking SDK.
2. Watch app
The watch app works entirely on your Garmin watch.
- Settings (course, lap lengths, target times, activity type and similar) are stored on the watch. If you change them in the Garmin Connect app, they are synced by Garmin as part of the Connect IQ app settings.
- Sensor data: during a race the app reads the timer, heart rate (optical sensor or a paired strap), the wrist accelerometer and, if paired, a foot pod. GPS / location is never used.
- Recorded activity: when you save a race, it is stored as a regular activity on the watch and uploaded by Garmin to your Garmin Connect account, like any other workout. That data is then handled under Garmin's privacy policy.
- Calibration and recent results may be kept on the watch to improve live pace and, if you use the companion app, to deliver results to your phone.
3. Companion app
- The companion app communicates with the watch app over Bluetooth through Garmin's Connect IQ Mobile SDK and the Garmin Connect app on your phone. Messages contain race settings and race results only.
- Your race plan and the results received from the watch are stored locally on your phone. They are not sent to us or to any third party.
- No account or sign-in is required. The app does not access your contacts, photos, location or other personal data on your phone.
- The Garmin Connect app must be installed for the connection to work; Garmin's own privacy policy applies to it.
4. Website
This website is a static page hosted by Vercel. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party fonts or scripts. As with any web host, Vercel may process technical data such as your IP address and browser type in server logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Vercel's privacy policy.
5. Email
If you contact us by email, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We do not add you to any mailing list and delete the correspondence when it is no longer needed.
6. Your control over your data
- Uninstalling the watch app removes its settings and stored data from the watch.
- Uninstalling the companion app removes the race plans and results stored on your phone. Individual results can also be deleted in the app.
- Saved activities can be edited or deleted in Garmin Connect at any time.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete – but feel free to contact us with any questions about your rights under the GDPR or other data protection laws.
7. Children
Roxguru is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
8. Changes
If Roxguru ever starts processing data differently, this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and the date above will change.
